New system for Matazone blogging through LiveJournal
Please update your LiveJournal settings to subscribe to the XML feed of my new on-site journal:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/matazonerrs/

(click the 'Add' link then confirm on the next screen)

If you want to comment on the posts then please use the link to the original post on my site and post there, because the chances of me remembering to come back to this syndication of the blog and check all the posts individually for comments are pretty small.

In fact, I have no idea how this syndication even happened. I guess it must be something automatic in the blogging software I'm using, because I certainly didn't set it up... Very odd.

So, I guess this will probably be my last post on this version of LiveJournal, but you'll now have the super happy fun time of my daily blogging nonsense from my on-site one.

erm... I looked on the faq, and found a link to the place you can put in the url of feeds you want to be added.

not sure where it was, but not very hard to find. You have to be a paid user to add feeds though, so if you're not, and want something added then let me know the url and I will do it.

Basically:

I have a blog on my own website, found here http://www.matazone.co.uk/blog

The blog software offers syndication, which basically means other sites can choose to pick up the posts and display them if they want

A friend has set up a livejournal syndication of my blog

That syndication can be found here http://www.livejournal.com/users/matazonerrs/

This will mean that posts to my on-site blog will appear on the livejournal syndicated blog, so if you add the livejournal one to your friends list then you will see my daily on-site blog messages appear as if I were posting them on LJ.

HOWEVER

Because I'm not technically posting them on LJ, they are only syndicated, if you make comments on the posts in the syndicated LJ version those are not sent over to my on-site version and I won't see them because I'm damned if I'm going to spend my whole life scanning the web for people talking about me!

Each syndicated post that turns up in your LJ friends list will have a link on it to the original post on my site. If you go to my site and comment then I will see it.

So, in even more simple terms:

I post in one place, but it turns up in two. The original on my site and a copy on LJ.

Because the LJ one is a copy, if you comment on it there then I won't see it. Use the link at the top of the posts to go to my site and comment there.

Okay?
